Criteria for “Brent Kurrle Scholarship” - 2011

The scholarship should be offered to an individual who possesses these traits:

1. •A swimmer dedicated to his/her summer team, regardless of participation in winter swimming or not
   

2. •A swimmer who displays great sportsmanship toward opponents
   

3. •A swimmer who is positive role model to younger swimmers
   

4. •A swimmer who practices with zeal
   

5. •A swimmer who handles victories with humility
   

6. •A swimmer who handles defeat with grace
   

7. •In total, a swimmer who embraces the concept of community swimming
   

To become eligible for the scholarship:

1. •Coach/team president must recommend a swimmer and write a letter of recommendation - get the Nomination Form here
   

2. •The candidate must write an essay of no more than 800 words expressing the benefits of swimming competitively and how the experience of participating in the East Severna Park Swim League was a positive experience.
   

Judging

1. •The deadline is Friday July 15th, 2011
   

2. •Send the Nomination letter and Essay to pbauman@G-and-O.com
   

3. •The ESPL officers will review the essays and recommendations from coaches and make a decision, to be approved by a panel of swim board members.
